Truck radiator repair
A running truck engine is constantly exposed to major temperature fluctuations. To ensure proper operation – heating enough to run efficiently but not overheating – a radiator is essential. A radiator in good condition helps the engine maintain its optimal temperature.
Trucks most often overheat in very high ambient temperatures, but faults also occur due to a low coolant level in the radiator or because of coolant leaks in the cooling system. If the truck’s thermostat is faulty, the hoses are leaking, or the radiator cap is defective, the engine can overheat, so it’s essential to address these issues as soon as they appear.
It’s recommended to look after your truck regularly and check the coolant level. This seemingly simple habit can save you time and money down the road. Most radiator problems stem from leaks, and if they’re not fixed, the vehicle can quickly become unfit for use.
The radiator is a critical component of the engine’s cooling system, so if you notice a warning light for the cooling system on the dashboard or see a leak, don’t wait – head to a TRELO service center in Vilnius or Western Europe.
If you end up stranded because of a radiator failure, never try to open the radiator cap yourself. It can be extremely hot and poses a risk to your health. If necessary, top up the cooling system with distilled water.
What determines radiator repair costs?
An exact price can only be given after a diagnostic inspection. If the radiator is beyond repair, it will need to be replaced. That’s why we recommend regular inspections to avoid unpleasant breakdowns and costs later.
At TRELO service centers in Vilnius, mechanic labor is €50 per hour. If you need help in Belgium, Germany, or France, TRELO can assist you there as well – mechanic labor is €80 per hour.
Please note that we do not recommend repairing old radiators and do not repair them ourselves – we replace them with new (or in some cases used) units, either OEM or aftermarket, according to your preference and prior agreement.
